Pharmaceutical company Zentiva announced a reduction of more than 20% in its Scope 1 GHG emissions over the last three years.
The company announced that all of its European manufacturing sites are powered by 100% renewable electricity.
For the first time, Zentiva calculated its complete Scope 3 emissions, according to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. In reaction to new European directives and regulations, the company upgraded its governance and policies to ensure readiness and compliance.
Zentiva is a new member of PSCI, the Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Initiative, emphasizing its goal to learn from and share know-how with our peers and partners.
“Zentiva is proof that the growth of a company can go hand in hand with investment in a sustainable future,” said Steffen Saltofte, CEO of Zentiva, in a statement. “We reach over 100 million people with our high-quality, affordable products. We recognize our impact on society and the environment and work hard to operate responsibly, minimizing our environmental impact while offering a great place to work and helping others around us. We are aware of the impact we have and will ensure that both targets are met: providing access to affordable healthcare and supporting European climate targets.”
